Domain Specific CMS
Technical SEO can become more challenging when working with CMS platforms which are specifically built for a particular sector such as recruitment companies. This was our starting point, to ensure the technical side of the site was working efficiently such as the desktop and mobile speed, 404 pages, 301 redirects, broken links and proper site architecture.
New Relevant Keywords
Next Generation had gone through a rebrand just before we started working with them. They cut their offering down and focused on new industries. We had to do a complete keyword refresh for them to ensure that their organic traffic stayed relevant to the visitors they were looking to attract. We implemented our keyword research, did up a new URL map and built a content and off-site plan around our new focused and relevant keywords.

While we managed all of the organic content schedules for Next Generation, we felt we were missing bigger opportunities when it came to paid campaigns. Our first campaigns focused on testing audience signals as well as types of creatives through promoted posts. This gave us feedback and the iterations we needed to make before increasing budgets and focusing the spend on signals lower down the funnel.

Our campaign focus was split across attracting new potential clients that Next Generation could work with and ways to continue to grow their candidate network in their known sectors. This involved creating a weekly testing schedule across all key campaign components such as copy, landing pages, ad creative and CTA’s.

These can be generic like CV tips or domain and industry-specific around certain trends and skills to acquire if looking to change jobs. This builds awareness and brand affinity for Next Generation, especially when using an easy-to-consume format of blogs and video content.
New Content System
Our new monthly content system allowed us to schedule our months well in advance. Along with our new design guidelines, we could place a bigger focus on Next Generation’s sales assets such as their presentation decks, their sector page copy and targeted advertising campaigns that would influence new business opportunities.
